1.) Have your paperwork ready to go

First and foremost, be prepared to get your paperwork together before the day of your exam. You’ll want to make sure that you have your ID along with a list of current and former doctors, including phone numbers and addresses. In addition, you will also want to keep in mind that you will be asked a number of questions regarding your current state of health. From your alcohol consumption to whether or not you engage in dangerous activities such as skydiving.


2.) Monitor your health beforehand

In addition, it’s also recommended that you skip out on the fast food and excessive alcohol consumption right before your exam, as neither will do you any favors. Also, be sure to avoid any sugar binges to keep your blood sugar levels at bay.


3.) Prepare to fast at least 8 hours prior

Don’t worry, taking a medical exam for life insurance coverage won’t require any excessive amount of fasting. However, you will need to be prepared to fast for at least 8 hours prior to the start of your exam. In other words, you won’t be able to go for any night snacks the day before your exam and you’ll also need to plan to delay breakfast until after your exam. What happens if you forget to fast? You run the risk of raising your blood sugar levels along with your blood pressure levels, which will not bode well for you come exam time, so just say no to those tempting treats.
